Flat roof planted areas

Intensive green roof and Extensive green roof

A roof garden is a building roof that is overlaid with vegetation and soil. It is part of a waterproofing system and has a number of benefits including absorbing rainwater, enhancing environmental quality, providing insulation, regulating temperature on the roof.

There are two types of roof gardens: landscape developments needing an intensive maintenance (Intensive green roof) or light vegetation with simple maintenance (extensive green roof). A number of considerations need to be taken into account when you are planning a roof garden. Among these are exposure, roof pitch, appearance, load per unit area, budget, maintenance constraints. Recognising these considerations is part of the process to select the most appropriate technical solution.

In the following systems selection, after choosing which kind of green roof you want (intensive/extensive), you will discover the Siplast systems.
